SYNTEC signs an agreement on Sunday and public holiday work for employees on duration of work in day

The SYNTEC branch has signed innovative agreements to meet the expectations of companies and employees. We will develop here the agreement relating to Sunday and public holiday work for employees on duration of work in days “forfait-jours”.

The partners to the negotiation of the branch (employers and employees’ representatives), wished to clarify and simplify the terms and conditions applicable to work on Sundays and public holidays, in particular by opening up the right to salary increases to employees on “forfait-jours”. It is understood that working on these special days is subject to specific terms and conditions since they are derogations.

For clarification purposes, the branch specifies the regular or exceptional nature of work on a special day. Work becomes regular from the 16th special day worked during the calendar year, from which the specific modalities for regular work will apply.

The increases, unless otherwise specified, are as follows:

  • Exceptional work: 100% wage increase (in addition to overtime).
  • Regular work: 25% wage increase (in addition to overtime).

This is applicable to employees working in hours and employees on “forfait-jours” but is not cumulative in the case of work on a Sunday that is a public holiday.

The agreement will take effect on the first day of the calendar month following the date of publication of the extension order in the Journal Officiel, and immediately for companies that are members of an employers' organisation that has signed the agreement in the branch.
